HR Director Eric Boyken stepped down from his position today as Director of Human Resources. As one of the most talented and respected managers at MetroAir, he will be sorely missed. Eric has named his replacement as Matthew Calsada, Detroit Hub Manager, to which executive management confirmed.
In a public post in the MetroAir forums, Eric wrote:
I feel honored to have served all of you as both your Hub Manager and Human Resources Director for the past ten months. MetroAir is an amazing organization, truly one of the best virtual airlines in existance. To have been able to work with such an organization at this level has been a privilage, one that I will deeply miss. Unfortunately, as I approach a time of transition in my life, my time and energies are continually being spread thinner. My decision to relinquish my management duties are for that reason alone. I submitted my formal letter of resignation early Monday afternoon, and I will be fully transitioned out of the position by the end of the week. On that note, I am very pleased to be the first person to congratulate Matt Calsada on his promition to Human Resources Director. Matt has done an excellent job serving as your Hub Manager since October and will do great in his new role. Despite the tone up until now, this is not "goodbye." I am pleased to stay with the airline as a humble pilot. Thanks to everyone for being a joy to work with. I'll be seing you around.
Please visit the MetroAir forums (Breakroom Water Cooler) to thank Eric for his hard work and dedication. Godspeed Eric.
