Boston, MA - Today has marked MetroAir Virtual's inaugural three times weekly service from its Boston hub to Larnaca, Cyprus. The start of this service underlines MetroAir's emphasis on expanding a diverse portfolio of destinations out of its key transatlantic market in Boston and will serve as the first entrance by a US carrier in to the booming tourism market of Cyprus.
Additional market opportunities in the Mediterranean remain a key strategic focus as we continue to review our international destinations while acquiring additional Boeing 787 Dreamliners. The addition of this service also bolsters our leading count of non-stop destinations in an increasingly competitive Boston market.
This new route is the first of many following the recent delivery of the first of 3 new B787s and 3 new B777. Deliveries of these new aircraft will continue through the year and into 2020.
